Our Story
What began as pioneering research at UCLA’s Stein Eye Institute and Henry Samueli School of Engineering has grown into a company at the forefront of ophthalmic innovation.
Since our incorporation during the height of the pandemic, Horizon has advanced Polaris™ from concept to clinic. With more than a decade of R&D behind it, Polaris has been tested in over 500 preclinical procedures and trained on a dataset of more than half a million images. These milestones laid the foundation for our transition into human studies, marking a new era in cataract care.
